A little about us…
The family run business was established over 30 years ago in 1982 by Keith & Joan Houliston after they spotted an opportunity travelling around the area selling frozen gateaux, chips and other frozen food. It soon became apparent there was a gap in the market for good quality fresh meats to the catering industry. Galloway Foodservice soon became one of the main frozen food wholesalers and catering butchers in the region, supplying hotels, restaurants, cafes and other food outlets throughout Scotland and Northern England.
Along side the wholesale business, Galloway Quality Meats was established, the retail arm of the company, providing a top quality High Street Butchers & Delicatessen in the heart of Dumfries.
The business is now run by one of Keiths three daughters, Melissa who took a keen interest in the family business after graduating from University back in 1998. Melissa along with managers Laura Straiton and Tom Steele, plus a fantastic team of skilled butchers and other key personnel (most of whom have been with the company since the 1980s) are now ready to push the business forward and offer our quality fresh meat products on a national level by delivering direct to your door.
